Shining a Light on FASD - Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder

On 9 September, HALT is proud to join FASD-CAN in recognising Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Day by lighting up the Foxton Water Tower red.

From sunset, the tower will shine red as a visible reminder across our community that alcohol exposure during pregnancy can have lifelong impacts on a child’s brain and development.

FASD is a lifelong disability, but with greater awareness, understanding and support, we can help children, young people and whānau affected by FASD to thrive.

This is the first time Horowhenua has participated in this national awareness campaign, and we’re proud to help shine a light on FASD and encourage greater understanding within our community.
